Drake Devonshire Hotel

Prince Edward County, Ontario

The firm was retained to provide concept designs for a future hotel wing housing 3 stories of rooms. Our scheme featured a single-loaded glazed corridor facing the grand view of the lake horizon while the hotel rooms privately faced the wooded lot and stream. We also provided the master plan and designed the renovation and restoration of the original Devonshire Inn to be revitalized and brought back to modern standards as the Drake Devonshire Hotel. AGATHOM worked alongside ERA Architects on the planning of this phase. The existing building had been poorly added to and neglected for years, and there was substantial damage to the existing building stock due to excessive groundwater seepage on all sides. The building had heritage significance and required careful structural surgery to correct its condition preparing it for a robust future.
