ROSSEAU LAKE COLLEGE

Rosseau Lake College is an extraordinary school located on the shore of a grand Muskoka lake. It is an independent co-ed day and boarding school offering unique opportunities for a close-knit community of international students.

In an effort to renew the campus and inspire fresh experiences the college seeks to add a complex of new STEAM learning classrooms (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math). The design concentrates the independent classrooms and labs clustered around a natural wetland pond, interconnected by broad wood decks and deep roof overhangs. A bridge has been introduced to cross the pond and further encourage a collegial experience. This is to be a place that inspires young people to follow their passions, share ideas and make new discoveries. The articulation of the independent yet joined buildings are to allow students to engage actively with each other, share and amplify their talents, and collaborate around real-world problems. The buildings are articulated to weave the natural setting of water, trees and wildlife into the learning experience.
